When most people are asked who they’d invite to their perfect dinner party, the list usually consists of a film star, a politician and someone who helped changed the world.

For me, it’s an easy question to answer, it would be Charles & Ray Eames.

From falling for the Eames Lounger at first sight and still coveting a Hang It All for my narrow hallway, this design duo are my ultimate design heroes. 

Mainly because they proved that furniture can be both practical and beautiful and that good design takes thought and time, something not everyone gets.

So it’s only natural I’ve been pouring over the fantastic Eames: Beautiful Details by Demetrios Eames (grandson of Charles and Ray). Full of beautiful pictures, sketches and anecdotes from those who knew and loved the couple, it’s a must read if you’re an Eames aficionado too.
