Colour at Maison et Objet
After a 4am start and frustrating delay at Gatwick, Room PR finally arrived in a grey and dreary Paris for Maison et Objet 2015.
However, all thoughts of grim, grey weather were left outside as we stepped into a riot of colour at the show.
From retro prints to punchy blocks of colour, it seems everyone has embraced colour this season.
Our first stop was Bethan Gray’s stand where the clever colour combination of grey and coral immediately jumped out at us; we’re definitely going to be using this at home. Next was Niki Jones and her range of geometric prints in a beautiful and bold palette of grey, yellow, indigo and teal, the cushions and throws were just crying out to be strewn on a neutral sofa.
(Left to right: Beautiful coral and grey at Bethan Gray; Yellow, indigo, grey and white at Niki Jones; the Missioni stand was a riot of colour and a treat for the eyes; Miss Print’s stand featured yellow, grey and blue; Bluebell Gray’s signature colour wash designs)
No visit to M&O is complete without a trip to the Missoni stand and this year, as always, it was one of the strongest.
Beautiful, signature prints in an array of colours made us want to scoop up throws and cushions by the armful. We even spied Rosita Missoni herself deep in conversation, which left us a little design star struck.
And we couldn’t resist stopping by Miss Print’s stand to see what they had in store. One of our favourite colour combinations, grey and yellow, looked stunning in this retro wallpaper while this blue reminded us of clear, summer days.
One of our last stops of the day was Bluebell Gray, whose signature colour-wash designs were the perfect antidote to the weather outside, and we’re not ashamed to admit we could have hopped right onto one of the beds.
We’ll be be be sharing more tips, trends and news from the show in the next few days…
